Appeals
“The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it and ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is.”
-Winston Churchill
At Ury & Moskow, LLC, we have successfully handled numerous appeals in both state and federal courts. We represent appellants and appellees (we prosecute and defend appeals), including existing clients and those who retain us solely for an appeal. We utilize the varied skills of our attorneys and staff to generate briefs and arguments that are well-respected by courts and litigants alike.
Among the significant law that our firm has created on appeal is an extension of employee protection in the work place – see Distasio v. Perkin Elmer Corp., 157 F.3d 55 (2nd Cir. 1998) – and the establishment of clear rules of development in environmentally sensitive areas – see Paige v. Town and Zoning Comm. of Town of Fairfield, 235 Comm. 448, 668 A.2d 340 (1995) and Paige v. Town and Zoning Comm. of Town of Fairfield, 231 Conn. 934, 649 A.2d 256 (1994). We have handled numerous other appeals in commercial disputes, construction law, foreclosures, and personal injury cases, among others.
